KPILIBRARY
The King Prajadhipok’s Institute Library is a special library of politics and governance established to support academics and researchers, and support KPI’s training and learning missions. The library was established at the end of 1999. Some items were donated by the former KPI secretary general Prof. Borwornsak Uwanno, and more books were subsequently added to the collection. Later, external clients began to express interest in using the KPI Library’s resources so the library was opened to external clients as well as KPI staff and course participants.
The library’s information resources are related to democracy, decentralization, local administration, public participation, good governance, conflict management, and peacebuilding. Resources include books, academic research papers, theses, KPI publications, journals, newspapers, and audio-visual materials.
The KPI Library uses the Library of Congress Classification system, and separate special classification for things such as KPI publications and academic research publications. In April 2010, KPI moved from its location in the Office of the Civil Service Commission compound (Nonthaburi Province) to The Government Complex at Chaeng Watthana Road, and since then the KPI Library operated from its location on the 4th floor of Building B.
